“Truth for Truckers” *March 28, 2014* Psalm 58 “Wicked Judges will be Judged”

I.                    David’s Personal Charges to Wicked Judges (v.1, 2)

A.     In heart ye work wickedness

B.     Ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth

II.                 David’s Picture of the Character of the Wicked (v.3-5)

A.     They go astray as soon as they are born speaking lies

B.     Their poison is like the poison of a serpent

III.               David’s Powerful Call for Vengeance from God (v.6-9)

A.     Break their teeth…their great teeth

B.     Let them melt away as waters

C.     Let them be as cut in pieces

D.     Like the untimely birth of a woman that they may not see the sun

E.      Take them away as with a whirlwind

IV.              The Righteous Rejoice (v.10, 11)

A.     When he sees the vengeance

B.     So that man shall say: Verily there is a reward for the righteous;

C.     Verily He is a God that judges in the earth

     This Psalm keys in upon the source of wickedness for they: “Go astray as soon as they are born”. This truth David also records in Psalm 51:5 “Behold I was shaped in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me” which is echoed by the Apostle Paul: “Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12) We are born with the sinful nature of Adam and unto we are born from above, we are under Adam, but praise be to the Lord, the new birth in Christ by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-7) makes us heaven-bound children of God!
